Professional Experience: 

Small Business Owner (1999 to present) - I am the owner of Patch Productions located in Kincheloe. Patch Productions services businesses and the community in general producing high quality, award winning web sites. As a small business owner in Kinross Township, I am disturbed by the lack of resources available. As a your Township Clerk I will continue my work with the Kinross Business Association to help foster growth within our community.

Kinross Charter Township Manager and Deputy Supervisor(2004 to 2006) Kinross Charter Township - As Manager I was responsible for the administration of all township business, preparing, presenting and managing the budget, and overseeing relationships with neighboring townships and other local governments. The township has over 40 full-time employees and an annual budget of $4.7 million. My responsibilities also include: Fairgrounds Administrator, Information Technology Administrator, Snowmobile Trail Grant Administrator, Website Administrator and Human Resources Director. As Township Manager I accomplished the following:

• Initiated and implemented a complete Local Area Network / Server replacement that brought the Kinross Charter Township computer technology up to date with the rest of the State.
• Initiated, Implemented, and designed the kinross.net website which Joe and the Township won the Governance Excellence award in the category of Constituent Communications and the Michigan Association of Governmental Computer Users Best Local Government Website Award for.
• Initiated and wrote the request for a $90,000.00 Department of Natural Resources grant to purchase a new 2006 Tucker Snow Cat trail groomer for the Snowmobile trails program which Joe administers.
• Initiated and implemented the re-opening of the Kinross Recreation Center computer lab.

Special Projects Manager (1995 to 2004) Sault Tribe of Chippewa Indians – As Special Assistant to the Chairman, my responsibilities included Developing and maintaining an information system to provide management with data from computer resources. Utilizing my knowledge of legislative / political data and computer capabilities, I developed methods and procedures for collecting, organizing, interpreting, surveying and classifying this information. This position required advanced Internet development and utilization skills. I was responsible for developing and implementing the Sault Tribes extensive web presence including providing membership services through these sites. In addition to the above responsibilities, I was also responsible for producing the Chairman and Board of Directors brochures that were mailed out periodically.

Michigan House of Representatives (1991 to 1993) Under the jurisdiction of the Michigan House of Representatives Communications Department I performed legislative research to provide specific constituent services for state Representatives, developed mailing plans that allowed state Representatives to maintain efficient communications with the people in their district and maintained direct contact with representatives to consult them on the political ramifications of sensitive issues in their districts.

U.S. Navy; 1986 -1991 / Reserve 1991- 1994/Highest Rank - Petty Officer Third Class {E4)  

Military Disbursing Clerk - (1986-1991) Maintained an automated data processing center producing system-generated and standard reports for the National Naval Medical Center; directly interacted with military members to provide personnel services including payroll; reconciled complex Navy accounting leave and earnings statements; awarded the Navy Achievement Medal for “superb performance of duty” in support of Operation Desert Shield.
